HELP 5
P. 230-234
We are continuing with this theme of choice. With this in mind we can become aware that freedom is a choice, but the freedom we speak of here is more than just permission to go ahead do what you want to do. What we speak of here is the choice we have between freedom or victimhood. It is the choice we have to go into lower vibration or higher vibration thought.
When we change or transform our interior landscape, then we must make adjustments for this change. Old behaviors, attitudes and actions which in the past might have been automatic are now no longer comfortable, they don't fit us anymore. We can still go ahead and do the old behaviors as we did before, that is still our choice, but we are usually going to find that the old behavior and attitudes are no longer comfortable, they know longer fit us. It is like growing out of old clothes. The clothes themselves could be fine but they no longer fit us.
Jesus used the analogy of building a house and either having its foundation on sand or rock. So there is very much to that analogy, in some ways we are tearing down the old house, the old structure of who we thought we were, and we are building a new one. But you will notice at the foundation the old house was one that was built on the illusion and so it must be replaced buy a foundation of rock that is Truth.
Another simple way of be expressing this is that either you react to situations or are you act and respond out of a sense of love and awareness.
The following passage is quite significant to what is transpiring in the world right now:
“We have spoken to you already about fear and how you can be used by media, by others, to get amplified as fear and consequently self-abnegate your own power as you go into reaction. So we are going to suggest today that as you show yourself your truth, “I am Word,” you begin to limit yourself in what you expect your responses to be to fear. Now we will show you what we mean.
“Oh my God, there is something terrible happening in the world.” Well, you can go there and you can call it terrible, which is a way to label it, or you can move into a kind of accordance with truth and you can say:
“I am now choosing to see that which I see before me in Divine Love. I am Word through this intention. Word I am Word.”
As the book emphasizes, we are not denying what is going on, we are prayerfully opening ourselves to see with the eyes of the Christ. ACIM suggests asking the question,”How can I see this differently?”
“If all that you see before you is of the divine, that must be inclusive of all that you see before you. And to decide today that that thing that you thought was terrible was outside of the Creator gives it merit and causes you to lower your own frequency. So of course, we can tell you when someone is presenting illness, you see them as healed. You don’t deny their experience, but you hold them in a higher frequency of Divine Love and you are holding a picture and a vision for them of healing which then benefits their frequency.”
We can also choose to align ourselves to a group of people—to be in agreement with them—at a higher or lower frequency. A higher frequency example of this is our Sun. morning group—and all the other groups like to that are being experienced all over the world.
