IDENTITY AND KNOWING 3
P. 185-186
The focus of this lesson is the physical body.
Whether we like it or not the body is an aspect of our learning here. We have chosen the body we have with all of its stuff. Some teachers would compare it to a space suit, the space suit we put on in order to function here on planet Earth. As with clothes “one size does not fit all,” so we each have a unique space suit to function with.
The mind would love to be able to figure this one out, “Why did I choose this one?” “I like her space suit much better than mine; how come I did not get that one?” and on and on.
As so often happens in life, I might never know the purpose of an event until long after the experience. How many times have we reflected,, “Ah, that’s what it was al about. That’s why.”
So the body is many things; it is our vehicle for functioning here on earth as well as being a set of lessons we have chose to learn.
“Now we want to talk about your bodies right now and what they really are. They are systems that are perfectly designed to give you an opportunity to stand, to feel, to see on this level of experience. The physical body has subtle bodies that are incorporated through it that work with you to access your frequency and your consciousness. Your emotional self, your mental self, are held here. They are not in the brain; they are in your auric field.
Now as you begin to understand that the work that is actually happening here is happening in a level of frequency, the physical body begins to shift in response to what you have created in your subtle bodies. So everything is going at once. Now you want to know how the body has to change and we will explain it to you as we can.”
If you are interested you can check out what is meant by “subtle bodies,” but it is not necessary for this work we are doing at the moment.
As long as we are on earth, we do not leave our bodies behind. What this lesson suggests is that as our inner vibration evolves so does the outer. I guess in a way, the book is stating that our relationship with our body is going to evolve and transform.
I recall St. Francis was reported as calling his body, “Poor Brother Ass.” Not to deny Francis’ holiness, but I get a sense here that we are being asked to hold the body in more esteem that that. It is not just something that we have to drag around, something that we are burdened with. It is our chosen interface with the material world.
When we speak about choosing our bodies; we are suggesting a similar kind of mind set that states that we choose our parents as well. We all have a unique agenda in this lifetime. There are lessons we have chosen to learn, and our physical being and those we interact with are all part of those lessons.
“I see myself in my perfect form. I am healthy and healed. I am Word through this intention. Word I am Word. And I am knowing myself as an aspect of the Divine.”
As you do this, you will create change. However, if you continue to engage in behaviors that limit the body from its healing, you are denouncing this decree. Now it’s not like going on a diet, or stopping smoking because you’re supposed to be good and healthy. In a funny way, what you are really doing is creating a new body in this frequency, a new healed body. “I am Word through my body” brings the Christ consciousness, the Divine Self, into activation in the cells of the body to reformat them and to bring them into accordance with the Divine Self in healing, in vibration, and in manifestation.”
