TRAVELING 1

We are going to explore manifestation in a deeper way. We have spoken about “creating your own reality” in different ways, and we realize that the understanding of this principle can be confusing and frustrating. Who would like to make this more clear for all of you.

So let us take an example from the physical world. Suppose you wanted an apple. Now there are many ways to get one, and all of these are varied ways of manifestation. If you believed you fully in your power to create and the power of your thoughts create (In other words the power of your thoughts to mold in shape the etheric substance that is all around you) then you could put out your hand and say “Apple” or just think “Apple” and there're would be. Many of Jesus's miracles we're similar to that kind of manifestation whether that was walking on water, feeding the 5000, or even healing someone.

There are many other ways of manifesting an apple. You could find an apple seed or even buy one and plant it in the ground, water and nurture it, and  as the apple tree grows it eventually produces an apple for you. You could go to the store and purchase an apple; you could ask someone to give one to you. You could probably think of many other ways of manifesting an apple, all of which are true. And each one of these expressions of manifestation carry with them a certain belief system which in turn opens you to that particular form of manifestation. For instance, if the only way you think you can manifest an apple is by going to the store and buying one then that will be the only method available to you. Nothing wrong with that; it is just simply limited.

No we are also speaking of creating reality on a global or communal plane. I was recalling those prophetic words of Ronald Reagan (who to this day, I still don't quite get), who said “Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall!” and the wall in Berlin between East and West Germany was been a symbol of separation and also very much a symbol of the so-called cold war when so many of us lived in fear nuclear disaster. And the wall came down; the Soviet Union fell apart; our enemy was no longer. The world breathed a sigh of relief, but most of us did not release or heal that sense of separation between people or countries. The fear of destruction was gone but the fear which created the separation in the first palce was still there; it had not been addressed. So what happened was, because nature abhors a vacuum. something else came in to fill that void. We created Isis. Now you could think, “I had nothing to do with that. I’m not crazy,”

We did not create it consciously or deliberately, but we still held onto that strange untruth that somehow fear will keep us safe. And because we did not address the cause of our fear and  heal it, here se are again.

I am reminded of that story thatJesus told describing a person who had seven demons cast out of them. he said they were like a house whose shutters were open, snd the light was let in, and the inside was swept clean, but nothing else was done. There was no reinforcement of the light, no healing, no gratitude, just relief. What he said then was that “seven more demons moved in who were worse than the other seven. I truly wonder if that is what we are facing right now.

Most of us do not have the ways or the means or the faith to think that we can change things globally and so we must begin with ourselves. When thoughts of negativity arrives we can shift our focus to someone or something else. This does not have to be a battle with negativity; it is not a wrestling match; you can simply pick up the book, go for a walk, sing a song, play with an animal, pick some flowers, eat the apple you manifested!

The last question we worked with on Sunday morning was one which explored what I would call the “shadow side of manifestation” or the shadow side of our understanding of manifestation. A member of the class was speaking of a friend who had breast cancer, and the immediate question that came to her mind was “Why would I create something like this?” and even though she is in remission right now that fearful thought remains that I might create it again.

I know that anyone of us would feel somewhat crazy if we were to think of ourselves creating a disease or illness, “Why would I do that?” There are many answers to that question and I do not intend to explore all but for the most part when something difficult comes along it is probably very nonproductive to try and find an answer to the question “why would I create something like this?” The most helpful question is “What do I need to do heal?”

As I mentioned above there might be many reasons, some of which or maybe many of which we cannot understand with the thinking mind. I do believe that before we incarnated in a physical body that our Spirit created an agenda, a learning journey here on planet Earth. I presume there are times when disease or illness are an aspect of that learning. The reasons, again might be beyond thought. It could be as someone pointed out beautifully in class that a person with an illness can sometimes be our greatest teacher. Can you imagine what a powerful, wonderful, beautiful sacrifice it would be to decide to take on illness, a physical illness to be a teacher to others? I cannot even imagine the bravery of that, and yet here we are. We are not a body; we are not a mind; we are not our emotions; we are much more.

The apostles came across a man born blind and asked Jesus, “Who has sinned, this man or his parents that he should have this condition?” and Jesus answered “No one has sinned; but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”

Now believe me, I do not pretend to understand that, but I choose to live in mystery of it
